About the Journal
The primary goal of the Kirkuk Journal of Engineering Sciences (KJES) is to publish and share latest and advanced research findings with the worldwide scientific community. The journal is a peer-reviewed and it is issued by the College of Engineering at the Kirkuk University under the supervision of specialist editorial team. For preserving high-quality standards, all submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process that is conducted by domestic as well as international panel of expert reviewers. To promote international academic exchange, all submissions must be in English only and the accepted ones are published in four issues per year. In order to be a platform for high-quality research discussions, the journal covers various aspects of experimental studies rooted in both engineering theory and practical applications.
In addition to covering various engineering disciplines such as, but not limited to, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Petroleum, and Environmental Engineering, researchers are invited to contribute their most recent developments and outcomes in the field of engineering under different related majors. Moreover, KJES also welcomes theme issues focused on specific topics of engineering related interest.
KJES was established in 2024 with a preliminary plan of distributing four issues a year and its future plan is to increase both the issues per as well as the number of manuscripts per issue. High publication standards and timely review process are in the top priority of the editorial team.
The KJES encourages the publication of research papers that consider conceptual analysis, design implementation, performance evaluation, and real time applications in different engineering field. In this regard, all submissions undergo a rigorous evaluation process, including a double-blind peer review, plagiarism checks, and similarity tests. And to enhance fairness and objectivity, authors' names and any related information are removed during the review process. Manuscripts with mathematical concepts solely without discussing their physical significance or providing concrete examples are disfavored. In same manner, research on material science should go beyond mere observation and description, incorporating a theoretical or quantitative analysis of the findings.
TYPES OF MANUSCRIPTS CONSIDERED:
KJES publishes original, high quality and impact articles that provide significant and meaningful contributions to the field of engineering science. Submitted papers are expected to fit in one of the following:
- Research Articles:This is a standard paper that intended to present new findings. Full-length original articles should include: Abstract (purpose, employed methods, main results and conclusion), introduction, theoretical concepts and/or experimental methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments, and references. Additionally, supported items such as figures and tables, along with graphics, images, and diagrams, must be submitted in high-quality formats.
- Review Articles:This type of articles is intended to comprehensively present the already existing findings on a particular subject. They are directed to offer an updated perspective that is relevant to the journal's audience. Review articles should include an abstract, a brief theory background, a summary of existing research, and a discussion of new developments in the field. A gap in-between the researches is also interested at the end of the article.
- Technical Notes:A technical note is an article, either regular or brief, that presents new findings. These notes are limited to a maximum of four printed pages, including figures and tables. They are suitable for reporting new findings, original preliminary results, comments on previously published papers in the journal, or significant new records. Abstract is not required in a technical note. Technical notes are reviewed in the same manner as regular papers.
- Selected Conference Articles:Conference organizers or committee are invited to work with the editorial team to publish the selected papers in the journal as part of a special or regular issue. As with a regular submission, all elected conference papers are
- Erratum:When a small but important mistake that is not going to alter the conclusion of an already publisher article is intended to be corrected, this is called Erratum. An erratum is usually inserted at the end of a book, but for a single error, a slip detailing the corrigendum may be inserted before or after the page containing the error. An erratum can also be issued shortly after the original text is published.
The KJES Editorial team retain the full right to reject any paper without forwarding it for review.
